An 1886 billiard hall and confectionery shop in red Uralla brick, run by the Evans family since 2000. David Evans, a University of New England senior lecturer, filled it with illuminated calligraphy — including a hand-lettered Beowulf commentary in modified half-uncial script, displayed with a replica Sutton Hoo mask. He died in 2007; the family keeps it going. Son Michael throws crystalline-glazed basins and birdbaths and teaches pottery on Saturday mornings; Helen sews textile pictures and tactile books for children. Ring ahead — Thursday openings alternate.
