Dame Nellie Melba built Coombe Cottage in 1912, and the estate has traded on that legacy ever since — wisely. Seven acres of gardens frame a cellar door and restaurant pouring wines grown on the property. The connection to Melba is genuine: her granddaughter Pamela Lady Vestey lived here until 2011, keeping the place from becoming mere nostalgia.
