Mostyn Owen built the winery in 1897 on the Reynella hillside and worked it until he died in the 1940s. It was left to fall apart, served as stables for years, and Geoff Merrill bought the wreck in 1985 and spent two putting it back. The gravity-fed cellars are why it's heritage listed. Four acres of vines and gardens now sit surrounded by southern Adelaide suburbia, geese on the dam by the gate.
