Four generations of Gilberts have farmed this Mount Barker land since before the vines went in — the first in 1985, the cellar door following in 1990, installed inside the original apple packing shed. That building still stands. Riesling, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from 24 acres of cool-climate fruit; a café added in 2003. Bev or one of her sons will likely be pouring.
