Bex and Aaron met working a cellar door in Orange, joked about commandeering an abandoned vineyard they drove past each day, and the pirate nickname stuck. She's a New Zealander who has chased wine from Germany to Oregon to Chile; he swapped eleven years of hairdressing for viticulture. Since their first vintage in 2022 they've tended high-altitude Orange vineyards, including 27-year-old vines near 1,000 metres, and made minimal-intervention Riesling, Pinot and Shiraz. They were 2026 Young Gun of Wine finalists.
