Vietnam veteran John Methven started this in 1996 with a Land Rover, a trailer of war memorabilia, and a mission to reach veterans who'd gone bush. Now approaching a $48.6 million permanent facility at Newhaven, the museum holds aircraft, armaments, personal objects, and the kind of institutional weight that comes from being built by the people who were there.
