Dr Peter Pratten planted vines along the Capel River in 1974, deliberately leaving the banks undisturbed for the native Mountain Ducks that still waddle the property today. Half a century on, the family winery draws fruit from Geographe, Wilyabrup, and Mount Barker — all vinified here. The 1986 Riesling that took Australian National Dry White Champion remains the benchmark story.
