Opened in 1961 on Gunditjmara, Tjap Wurrung and Bungandidj Country, Hamilton Gallery holds 10,000 works spanning Albert Namatjira watercolours, a Howard Arkley acrylic, Patricia Piccinini fibreglass, and an 18th-century Meissen coffee and chocolate service. A serious collection in a town most visitors drive through. The new building — Angelo Candalepas appointed for detailed design — arrives soon.
