The land above Hinton Bay was apple orchard before the vines went in — Chardonnay (mostly Penfolds clone) and Pinot Noir (114, 115, MV-6, 777) planted close together in 1989 and dry-grown ever since. Sydney couple Liz and David Brown took it on by accident, mid-renovation plans, and now host tastings by appointment from a quiet slope above the Tamar River.
