Silvio Ruffato started the Parigina factory in Brunswick in the mid-1960s; Peter Parkinson bought it when Silvio retired in 1987, and his son Brad runs it now — third generation, three shoemakers, patterns unchanged for thirty years. Shoes are hand-lasted and hand-finished from a library of over 200 leathers, with lasts altered to fit awkward feet. One of the last formal shoemakers manufacturing in Australia. They repair, too.
