Marven and Coralie have run Saffron for two decades, starting in Manuka in 2004 before settling on Kennedy Street in Kingston. The format is the mezze banquet: dips first, the beetroot and baba ganoush the ones regulars come back for, then shish kebabs with baharat and tagines, across a Lebanese and East Mediterranean menu. A big room of sandstone and sea-green tile, with belly dancing on Saturdays.
