Tucked into the Habitat precinct in Byron's Arts and Industry Estate, this plant-based cafe and providore trades in the kind of unhurried mornings the estate does well: communal tables, courtyard rugs and cushions in the shade of the trees. Owners Penny Loughnan and Anthony Baker keep the menu entirely meat-free and largely vegan, running kitchari soup, soul bowls and stir-fries alongside a cabinet of house-baked things, the rosemary and lemon cake and beetroot chocolate brownie among them. Smoothies lean on local blends, the coffee is reliable, and the room fills with a mix of estate workers, families and travellers who have made it a fixture. It is plant-based cooking pitched at everyday eating rather than spectacle.
