Five etching presses, a fume cupboard, exposure units, rollers, brayers — the volunteer-run studio tucked into the Manly Vale Community Centre has the infrastructure of a serious printmaking operation without the institutional overhead. Members access equipment and classes; anyone curious about intaglio or relief work can start here.
Paramount Coffee Project

Open since 2013, Paramount Coffee Project sits in the foyer of Paramount House Hotel, rotating its coffee selection across origins, processes and roasters rather than committing to one. The room opens to the street; locals and hotel guests move through the same space. An unbiased approach to the cup, done without fuss.
Jenolan Caves Visitor Centre

Two hours west of the Blue Mountains, the caves themselves are the exhibit. Formed over millions of years, Jenolan's limestone chambers hold crystal speleothems so sensitive that skin oil causes permanent damage — hence the strict no-touch rule. Tours run with guides; no tripods, no food, no pets. The Grand Arch is the staging point. World Heritage listed, and it shows.

Three colour-coded studios on Dickson Avenue in Artarmon — green, pink, purple — run wheel-throwing and handbuilding classes pitched at hens parties, team building, date nights and kids birthdays. The format is social rather than instructional, which suits the clientele. Beginners are the point, not the exception.
