The Rox Hobart

An 1880s building in Hobart's MidTown, revived in 2021 as a small collection of heritage and modern apartments — you choose which century you want to sleep in. The Alexander is sandstone and history. The Penthouse is glass and city views. Room service comes from Institut Polaire, one of Hobart's best wine bars, which tells you about the neighbourhood: convict churches next to graffitied walls, hidden bars next to art galleries. Forbes, Gourmet Traveller, and the SMH have all written about it. MidTown is where Hobart stops performing for tourists and starts being itself.
